Rovers® Cervex-Brush® Combi
Rovers Medical Devices has engineered a new Pap smear collection device which combines the important features of the original Cervex-Brush® with the benefits of the EndoCervex-Brush®. The Combi device is a completely integrated endocervical sampler that contains a lot of tiny fibres for optimal collection of cells from the endocervical canal.
Rovers Medical Devices has specialized in the development, production and worldwide sales of cell sampling devices. Rovers set out to develop sampling devices that provide for optimal sampling properties for different body orifices. Better samples enhance the value of diagnostic methods and improve the rate of disease detection.
In order to integrate the endocervical sampler in the combi device, Rovers first had to develop the thin-fibre technology. The challenge was to create configurations with very high densitities of tiny fibres (up to 1000 fibres per cm2) that could be applied to different configurations.
Two endocervical samplers were developed: the Rovers® EndoCervex-Brush® for normal endocervical sampling and the Rovers® EndoCervex-Brush®-S for cases where the entrance of the endocervical canal is narrow or stenotic.
Samples can be obtained from the majority of women with the Rovers® Cervex-Brush® Combi. With the availablity of these different products, however, clinians can take an optimal sample in all cases, whether it is the single use of the Rovers® Cervex-Brush® or Rovers® Cervex-Brush® Combi, or the combined use of the Rovers® Cervex-Brush® with one of the two available endocervical sampling devices.
Cervex-Brush® Combi Benefits
The convenient Cervex-Brush® Combi is an ideal Pap smear collection instrument since it is now possible to smear almost 100% of the patients while the middle part of the device is simultaneously collecting endocervical material.
With proper use of the Cervex-Brush® Combi, practitioners will only have to rotate the brush two full turns.
